Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday, my friends. I'm so blessed to be linking up with Laurie @ Women Taking a Stand and giving thanks to our King for His many blessings in our lives today. Thank you, Laurie, for being our hostess.

My husband and I leave for NY today. We were blessed to be asked by his sister, Ninamarie, to come and take part in her youngest son's communion. I am thankful for Jason's sister, Ninamarie...she is one of his family member's who has always accepted me and treated me with kindness. I look forward to the time with her and her family.

I am thankful for my sister in law Holly, who is going to be watching my son, Joshua. They will get some bonding time together and I know Joshua will be in good hands.

I am thankful that my husband was able to take the time off and we will have some alone time together. We laugh a lot when we travel together. I'm looking forward to this time with him.

I am thankful for the blogging community who never fails to rally to their sister's sides with prayers when needed. It is always such a blessing. My blood results came back at the doctor's office and for the most part, all was ok. I have a little bit of a thyroid issue but that will get worked out. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your prayers.

So my friends ... I will be gone until next Wednesday. I am not going to be taking my computer as I want the time dedicated to my husband and my family. Trust me, my hands are shaking as I type this (just kidding). I covet your prayers for traveling mercies. And I can't wait to catch up with all of you when I get back.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He shine His divine countenance upon you. Big big hugs from Florida.

Love ya bunches!! See ya soon!

Blue Monday

Good morning! Happy Blue Monday. Thank you to everyone who sent me kind words of encouragement and offered up prayers on my behalf for my doctor's appt on Friday. I'm doing okay ... another post for another day ... what I'd really like to show you is what was going on with my two guys while I was away and I get to do it while linking up with my pal Smiling Sally.

My son and husband served this weekend in Leesburg, Florida at a ministry called "Soldiers for Jesus". Notice the beautiful blue sky. My son is not looking directly at the camera here but they were street witnessing and passing out tracks to some notoriously hard core biker gangs. To say I was a little concerned, would be to put it mildly, but Joshua and Jay were thrilled to be out witnessing for the Lord.

These are some of the people they were witnessing to.

This is my beloved son sharing the gospel. The blue sky is lovely but if he didn't have on the sunglasses you'd be wow'ed by the eye color, I can truly say! lol One person gave their life to the Lord this weekend. And my guys were really 'stoked' about it. They have an 8 month process induction before they can be considered a full time member of Soldiers for Jesus but they are putting in their time. I would like to say as Josh's Mom, that this has always been his strong suit. Street witnessing. I am terrified of this kind of boldness but he loves it.

I pray you have a blessed day in the Lord. Big hugs to you!

Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday! I'm linking up with Laurie today and we are giving thanks and specifically talking about provision! I had to stop for a minute and wonder if Laurie was reading my mail...lol

I had some really awful news this week. First, my doctor's visit went ok...but the bloodwork results were not back yet and therefore the doctor wishes to keep me on medicine. I'm still holding on to Psalm 27..."Wait upon the Lord and He will strengthen your heart". I am not a rebellious person by nature but it would just bode with me better if they called and said "yes, all is clear". Today they told me the lab lost my results!

Next, my husband, son and I were supposed to go to NY the end of next week for a celebration for my nephew. My husband and I were in the ceremony. I won't get into logistics here but we found out that Josh's football season started and it is the beginning of spring season where positions are determined and starting lineups. It's his senior year and he does not want to miss out on that so it looked like I was going to stay behind. Every available family member was just too put out to make any adjustments to come stay with him.

And then God............

My sister in law, Holly, was going to go to NY to the ceremony but has decided she will stay behind and have quality time with Joshua and allow Jay and I to go and be part of the ceremony and have the time together. Holly is a new believer and up until a few months ago, this would have never been possible.
I was speaking with Michele over at Michele's Morsels Beelieve today and she agreed to pray with me over the matter and within an hour, God had worked the whole thing out. Praise Him. This means a lot to Jason's other sister that we are there. She missed out on a lot of his life and she trusts Jay to stand in for her son in spiritual matters.
I mentioned to Michele today that I was weary and then I read this Psalm...I'd like to leave it with you...may you be strengthened too. Psalm 6:2 "Have mercy on me Lord for I am weak; O Lord heal me for my bones are troubled"
David pleaded for mercy here based on his weakness. This confession "I am weak" is hard to own up to. We like to be strong...but we fail and we need to call upon God for mercy. I am glad for the provision of His grace and His mercy despite my weakness. And for the provisions that He sends along in the way of friends who will pray...and a sister in law who humbled and sacrificed her wants.
Blessings to you this Thankful Thursday! Great big hugs!
