Another Award

My friend, Denise, gave me these two precious awards. I'd like to give them to someone who I think is truly a special person. She loves the Lord and has the most amazing compassion and love for children. She is Peggy and she hosts Mission Mondays.

Her encouragement for others is inspiring. She is such a great example of Christ-like love. I'm happy to be her bloggy friend.

My dear friend, Denise, blessed me with a lovely award. To translate the gift from Portuguese to English, it means:"This blog invests and believes, the proximity"[meaning, that blogging makes us 'close' -being close through proxy] How awesome is that?? "They all are charmed with the blogs, where in the majority of its aims are to show the marvels and to do friendship; there are persons who are not interested when we give them a prize, and then they help to cut these bows; do we want that they are cut, or that they propagate? Then let's try to give more attention to them!

So with this prize we must deliver it to 8 bloggers that in turn must make the same thing and put this text. So, I want to pass this award on to the following 8 bloggers. My husband Rocks...You bet he does!!

Here's the day we got married. I married a long haired rock n roll drummer! Oh my!
This is a new dad! When I think back, Josh had to be terrified way up there...Jay stands 6'7"! He has the most amazing smile! Both my guys do!
I know this picture isn't great but Jason did not have a great home life. He has very few pictures. He was even homeless at one point. I love this picture...He is 16 here. That is Joshua's age now...the resemblance is amazing physically. We sat tonight talking about his life and how he did not have his father around. He said "that's why I give my son bear hugs...I don't care how tall he gets!"
This is Josh and I at the doctor's office today. I just posted this picture so you could see the resemblance!
**Josh and I are so blessed to have Jason at the helm of our home. He consistently talks with Joshua about the things of the Lord and asks him how he can pray for him. They go outside and play football together. He encourages us in the tasks we have to do and asks us how he can help us. He comes alongside of me in Joshua's schooling and inquires to how he is doing, which just taking an interest is great and keeps Joshua on his toes! Jason is interested and engaged in the direction of our home and cares about even the smallest of things (q-tips)! We are blessed!

1 John 4:21 "And this commandment we have from Him, that he who loves God must love his brother also"

Thankful Thursday

Today I would like to write about being thankful for the movie below and specifically the actor, Kirk Cameron, who plays the lead role in the movie. Kirk believes so much in his wedding vows and has made a promise to his wife, Chelsea, that no matter the part, he will never compromise his vows, and kiss another woman, even if the part calls for it.

So in this movie, when you see him kissing the woman...his wife, Chelsea, put on a wig and stood in for the actress playing his wife so that he could keep his commitment to her. YES! I am thankful that this movie is being made. I'm thankful that Kirk takes such a stand for marriage and commitment and will not compromise.

As a side note...Kirk Cameron was in my sister Candy's graduating class and she had classes with him. At their graduation, he was very gracious to take a picture with my daughter, Krystle.

Ephesians 5:25 "Husbands love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her"

Peace, be still

Proverbs 10:19 "In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise"

OH MY - I read this part of my Proverb this morning and I was shot through the heart! Oh the conviction! Thank you, Lord! I could also hear my little nephews walking around singing the Bon Jovi song "shot through the heart"...their mother is a huge fan of Bon Jovi and the kids actually walk around "rocking out" to him all the time. But I digress.

There is a note in my Bible that says this "The more you say, the more opportunity you have to say the wrong thing. There are a few times when, after the fact, I regretted not saying something that I wanted to say. But there are so many times when I wished I hadn't said something I said"

Wow! Can anyone else relate to that? I sure can. It also made me think that if I remember this proverb and really take it to heart, I'll have a lot more moments like the one in the sailboat below!

The note in my Bible went on to say that there is a related proverb that is not in the Bible that says "It is better to keep your mouth shut and let men suspect you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt" ... oh no... a trip to Target came to my mind! But I'm going to aim for the sailboat and peace!

James 1:19 "Be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath"

Truthful Tuesday

Here is a beautiful song by Rebecca St. James that speaks to abstinenance. What I love about this video is the young man is also shown to be waiting upon the Lord.

My son and I had the delicate conversation between 'lust' and 'love' in our morning devotions. For a real definition of love one must only go to 1 Corinthians 13. The contrast is striking between love and lust...lust is described in the 7th proverb with a person who uses enticing speeches to cause one to yield or stumble into immoral situations. Lust is not love.

1st Corinthians 13:4-7 speaks of love this way "Love suffers long and is king; love does not envy; love does not parade itself; it is not puffed up; does not behave rudely; does not seek its own, is not provoked; thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things; believes all things; hopes all things, endures all things"

Yes, love is worth waiting for!
