Bloggy Break

The picture above is my Aunt Pat and her daughter in law, Sylvie. My Aunt Pat suffered a massive heart attack this morning and as I type this post, her organs have begun to shut down and it does not look as if she will be with us any longer.

The soothing salve in this is the knowledge that my sweet Aunt loved the Lord Jesus. I think some of you may remember when I posted about going to my cousin Susan's 40th birthday party (which is when this picture was taken) back in September. She is Susan's Mom and I will miss her tremendously. This makes the fifth family member on my father's side in less than a year that our family has lost.

My friends, I am going to take the rest of this week off of blogging. I will be heading home to Vero to be what comfort I can to my parents and cousins. I will covet your prayers.

Blessings to you. And a great big hug from me to you.

Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday! Today, I link with Iris @ Grace Alone, and join with my sisters in giving thanks to our Lord for He is good and deserves our praise and thanks!!

I am thankful for Proverbs 18:10 "The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe" ... this brings me tremendous comfort today. I am going to my cardiologist today. This was the time frame I was given for the beginning medication to end and the new medication to begin. It is always a bit scary for me. My body does not react to new medication well. So I'm counting on my Strong Tower. I'm running to Him...and I know I will find safety there.

I am thankful for my sister, Candy and her family's visit this last Sunday and Monday. We had not seen them in a while and we had missed them terribly. We are extremely close to them and it did our hearts well to be able to hold those boys and love on them. I know I personally got at least a hundred kisses from Brendan and applied the same! Matthew 19:14 "But Jesus said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven."

I am thankful for my husband coming home early yesterday to accompany me to the grocery store because he knew my head had been hurting me for a couple of days. His lovingkindness towards me always leaves me wondering how I deserved this man. Song of Solomon 1:16 "Behold, you are handsome, my beloved! Yes, pleasant!"

So thank you, Jesus, for all of your mercies, in every form they come. I am truly thankful. Blessings to you, today, my sisters. And ((hugs)) to you!!

Word for Wednesday

Philippians 1:3 "I thank my God upon every remembrance of you"

My sisters, I would like to take just the briefest moment to say this about the section that blogger calls the 'followers' section: I only love one thing about it...it allows me to see wonderful faces of my sisters who have decided to stroll with me to the cross from time to time and I am reminded to be thankful for their time, their counsel, their wisdom, their encouragement, their love.

Blessings to you this day. I'm thanking God for you today! ((hugs))

Sisters

I was up late last night having dinner with an old classmate from Texas. He was here for the Daytona 500. He and his wife were just wonderful and Jay and I had a great time with he and his wife. We didn't get home until 1 am. Whew...I'm too old for this! lol

I wanted to post about my sisters today. I'm sorry for the late start. My sister, Candy, and I are not the closest in age but we have the closest relationship. We are sister's in Christ, first and foremost. And we are sister-in-laws. Our husbands are brothers. And no, it's not a Kentucky thing. Sorry, Kentucky folks...I mean no disrespect. I have family from Tennessee and well, you know, that kind of thing, well, it happens! lol But I digress. This is my sister, Candy and I at Thanksgiving. She is 9 years younger than me.

This is my sister, Rhonda. Rhonda is a year and a half younger than I am. We fought like cats and dogs growing up. We are as different as day and night. She was always athletic and I was always prissy. However, if anyone else ever had a harsh word against us, we always had each other's back! Or she had mine. I was never a scrapper, but she does have several pictures with black eyes from being in neighborhood fights. lol This picture was also taken at Thanksgiving.

This is my sister, Kelly. Kelly is 9 years younger than me. We probably look the most alike. We have the same father and a different Mom. Her Mom is my bonus Mom. I taught Kelly how to dance when she was little. This picture was taken at my cousin, Susan's, 40th birthday party.
This is Rhonda and Candy at Thanksgiving. Candy always wanted to be around Rhonda when she was little. Rhonda was the 'fun' sister who liked to get dirty and play outside. I never could understand how Rhonda could be so mean to her and Candy still toddled after her. If I only knew getting dirt into the picture was the trick...nah, that would not have changed my tea party! lol

These are my sisters. We are a varied bunch. My family tree needs a flow chart to keep up with! But I love them. They are all younger than me and all extremely different than me. However, we all have a bond. We all can make each other laugh and we all can make each other cry. But there is never a time when we wouldn't be there for each other under any circumstances. And I am grateful for that and them.
I thank God for my sisters.
Blessings to you today!

Blue Monday

It's Blue Monday! Today we link up with Smiling Sally and show off our blue.

My friend, Donna, sent me this picture that her daughter, Ariana took while schooling in Scotland. Will you just look at that beautiful double rainbow and the bird's eye view? Fabulous! Well done, Lord....well done!
Blessings to you today. May your Monday be filled with beautiful shades of blue!!

Happy Sunday

Blessings to you this day that our Lord Jesus has made!!

A Valentine's Day Tale

Derek & Kelly invited us golfing today to be followed by dinner for a Valentine's Day date. I don't golf, but I drive a mean cart. However, I'm reconsidering my position on golfing after I saw Kelly's pink clubs!! I mean, pink clubs...how chic! I could totally golf if I had pink clubs....right? lol

Nobody had a really good game today ... or...Derek was getting really hungry!

My handsome hubby waiting his turn to crush the ball....tee hee

Kelly looking fabulous....do you guys think I was a distraction to their game trying to take their pictures while they were playing? nahhhhh

Derek finishing up his shot.

Happy Valentine's Day to Derek & Kelly ... our most excellent friends... We love you!

Happy Valentine's Day to my most excellent hubby ... I love you! I'm sorry you didn't win but can you be still so I can take your picture...lol

Me & Kellygirl....doesn't it totally look like I just played a round of golf instead of just taking pictures? lol Hmmm...if I only had some pink clubs!

I pray you all had a blessed Valentine's Day being loved on and loving the people that God has placed around you. Hugs to you !!

Show and Tell Saturdays

My friend, Kimmy, is hosting, Show and Tell Saturdays today. The theme this week is to show your favorite pair of shoes!

Ladies....these are my boots! And I just love them. My hubby bought them for me in Tennessee year before last and they make me feel like I could just go saddle up and ride away with that cowboy of mine forever!!

As you can see, I'm not the best photographer...but the roses and angel he got me for Valentine's Day are kind of in the view. I can't wait to see all of the shoes out there. Believe it or not I'm not a shoe gal. But those boots.....oh my...I do love those!!

Happy Saturday to you! And a great big hug!!

Thankful Thursday

Today is the day where we link up with Iris, our host, and give thanks for God's blessings. What a wonderful way to begin this day that the Lord has made!

Today it was cloudy outside and the clouds made my head want to hurt something fierce, however....I AM THANKFUL for this this verse and the promise it holds. 1 Thess 4:16-18 "For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words."

I am thankful for a new bloggy makeover. This gift was provided for me by Beth and Tara. I feel like a girl with a brand new pair of the best fittingest (is that a word?) jeans ever! And Tara is having a special right now (and never once lost her patience even with a goofball like me who messed up all her hard work even after it was done) so head on over there and let her show you some of the best fittingest makeover stuff too! James 1: 17 "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning."

I am thankful for some quality time that I will get to spend with my husband today! We were offered tickets to a Daytona race. His brother had extra tickets and we will get to go. Joshua has to work so it will be just the two of us..you know, and all of his brother's customers. I'm thankful for this time with my hubby. We always have fun riding places together. I love to hear him talk. I love his smile. I love it when he gets us lost and refuses to ask for directions....lol (just kidding...but hey, after we get where we are going we start laughing again!) Song of Solomon 4:11 "Your lips, O my spouse, drip as the honeycomb; honey and milk are under your tongue; And the fragrance of your garments is like the fragrance of Lebanon"

I would like to end with this Psalm of thanksgiving to our Lord, Jesus and tell Him again how thankful I am for His faithfulness. I pray it blesses you too.

Psalm 100 "Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!

Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing, Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations"

Blessings to you today!

Blessings to you this day! And a great big hug!

My sweet sister, Beth, provided for me a new blog makeover! I just love it. Thank you, Beth. And thank you, Tara, for the great work and the time and patience you extended to me. I love my new look!

I HEART FACES - KIDS

This week's 'I heart faces' theme is "silly". I took this picture on my iphone of my two nephews, Brendan and Jason. They were making fun of my reading glasses and so I put them on the little guy and they were hamming it up and acting silly. I love their sweet faces!

Blue Monday

Last week I was invited to join a meme called Blue Monday. Smiling Sally hosts it each Monday. I went over and checked it out and thought it was just too cute! So this Monday I am throwing some blue your way...the beautiful blue, that is. The kind that doesn't match any crayon in a box....no fabric swatch can quite find its' equal...no, this blue was hand crafted for us by the Creator. Such a gift!! Hope you enjoy the blue skies in the photos below. We sure did.

Me and Captain Stubing enjoying the beautiful blue sky!

My precious nephew Brendan on the bow of the boat getting ready to go fishing!

Joshua shredding it up on the wakeboard! If you think the sky is beautiful, you should see his eyes! Sorry, proud Mom moment.

Psalm 103:1 "Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!"

The Eyes Have It

I entered this picture in this week's theme 'The Eyes Have It'. This is one of my favorite pictures of my son and I. We have the exact same color of eyes but I think the reason it is my favorite picture is because of how much we ended up laughing when he was trying to be so serious because he was getting ready for a playoff game. Had to have his game face on. How I love that young man of mine!
Can't wait to see the other entries...they are always so fabulous! If you would like to join in go to iheartfaces. Blessings to you today and a great big ((hug))
