My Husband Rocks

My friend, Katy Lin, celebrates My Husband Rocks on Fridays. It is a great way to pay tribute to our husbands.

This is Jason and baby Jason out on the boat this last Saturday. He is a great uncle. This little guy was obviously named after him but what just cracks us all up is how he just pines around after him. He can do no wrong in this little guys eyes. At one point he was sitting at the front of the boat and Jay was on the wave runner and Jay was trying to spray Brian on the other wave runner. He sprayed the whole front of the boat. The baby got soaked and Candy got somewhat wet! The little guy's response was to tell his Daddy not to do that to Uncle Jay. Ha.
This is Jason skurfing. It was the first time he was able to do that for months. He had torn his calf muscle the last time we had the youth group up at our house and he was playing football with them.

Earlier today I read a very provocative post about a father who realized he did not spend enough time with his family. I can honestly say that Jason showers us with his time and affection. He is generous with both and we are extremely grateful.

Thankful Thursday

Today's Thankful Thursday is dedicated to Special Friendships.

I am thankful for Jesus Christ who is the most special friend anyone can ever have. He is THE friend who will stick closer than any brother. Proverbs 18:24

I am thankful for the following very special lifelong friends ~ Phyllis, Daiana, Missy, Clara, Kat, Gwennie, Stephanie , Sharon, Morgan, Kelly & Donna. They have allowed me to glean much from them! We have laughed together and cried together and though I am geographically far from all of them now, we all know, if a need arises, after I drive thru Starbucks for my Frappacino, I'm on my way!

I am thankful for my new blogging community of friends ~ Denise, Cheryl, Kim, Kathy, Mimi, Tarah, Bethany, Peggy, Marsha, Michele, Alicia, Darlene, Karen, Beth, Rebecca, Samantha, Morgy Bear, Katy Lin, Melanie, Laura Lee, Sherry, Kristi, Lea, Tracey, Daphine, Edie, Erica, SophieMae, Laurie Ann, Sunny, Bug, Frizzy, Anissa, Nancie, Beth, Gwendolyn, Janera, Amy, Jill, Sita, Jenn, Holly, Dee Dee, Tiffany, Laurie, Debbie, Esthermay, Melanie, Esme, Lori, Laurie, Heidi, Pia, Vickie, Leslie, Jean & Lisa. I love that God multiplies and gives an abundance! Thank you, Lord for these great ladies who take time out of their daily schedules to stop by and say an encouraging word. I am thankful!

May your Thursday be blessed! For more Thankful Thursday, see Iris.

Wednesday

Happy Wednesday! This is one of the pictures I took on Saturday when we were boating on the lake. When we were going through the pictures someone said I could just delete the ones that were just water, but I can't, I just love them.

I'm amazed at how God spoke this into existence and it's just one lake! I love the water, I love the way it feels on your skin and the way it refreshes you on a hot summer day. Mostly, I love this verse about the water. It's not the most well known verse about the water but it is the one that touches my soul deeply for some reason.

Genesis 2b "And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters"

May the Lord bless you this day!

Love Test

Saw this picture and couldn't resist to post it. I have a great note in my Bible that reminds us that back in the eleventh chapter of 1 Corinthians we are told to examine ourselves (1 Cor 11:28), so with that exhortation take the "Love Test" in the 13th chapter of 1 Corinthians. Everytime you see the word 'love' insert your name instead.

For example: "Debra suffers long and is kind. Debra does not envy. Debra does not think evil." It is somewhat sobering but it is a great test to see how far I am down the road toward what the Lord would have me be. He wants His love operating in our lives.

Then insert the name of Jesus.

"Jesus suffers long and is kind. Jesus does not envy. Jesus isn't provoked. Jesus thinks no evil. Jesus does not rejoice in iniquity. Jesus rejoices in all truth. Jesus bears all things. Jesus never fails."

Hallalujah!

1 Cor 13:4-8 "Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, it is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails."

Monday Morning Madness

My husband and I had to deal with a difficult situation earlier today regarding our son. It is a homeschooling matter and dealing with the public school sector but was somewhat frustrating.

The man that we were dealing with was a frazzled mess and it struck my husband to ask him if he could pray with him. He was definitely in a quandry. The man declined. We assured him we would be praying for him anyway when we left.

It's odd to me that people don't find it comforting to pray or be prayed for, but it made me think about this verse.....one day, every knee will bow...every tongue will confess. How I long for that day!

Isaiah 45:22-23 "Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other, I have sworn by Myself; The word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness, And shall not return, That to Me every knee shall bow, Every tongue shall take an oath"

Super Sunday

My friend, Peggy, has begun this new meme.

My contribution is this photo...........
And this verse...Matthew 6:25-26 "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; not about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?"

A little more yesterday's fun at the lake!

This is my son and I on my sister's wave runner. He had just convinced me, or it could be deemed that I had given in to peer pressure, to jump the wake of the boat. It was a rather small wake and I tend to go slow on these things so I tried it. It was fun...but can you say "aching body" today? This is my attempt to really try and show Kim and Kathy why they should come and visit me!

Jay and his little 'mini him' on the boat.
This is more my speed...slow and steady.

Jay and his brother, Brian are too funny on the wave runners. They totally soak each other. You can just barely see what is about to happen to Jason in this picture...he gets soaked!
Okay, I believe this was the beginning of my son's convincing me I should jump the boat's wake. I'm so glad my Mom doesn't know how to access these pictures...I'd be in big trouble! tee hee Well, we took over 200 pictures yesterday. Doesn't the lake just look beautiful? This is my view from my balconies everyday. I thank God for it. I love the water. I love that God made it and it screams of His beauty and His majesty. And that it allows us pleasure is a pleasant side note. Blessings to you this Sunday, my friends.
