This is something that has been my desire over the years but has not been something that has been easy for me. I tend to NOT be a morning person and sleep in late. When I recently began new heart medication, the first few days, I was up early, but it was with a racing heart and I was unable to do much.
I have purposely been praying about being a better homemaker and helper to my husband. I love it when I read about these young women who get up very early and work diligently to set about their homes in order so as to promote harmony from early on. It reminds me of my Nonny.
She used to be up at 4:30 am everyday. And she used to admonish me and tell me I had wasted my entire day when I got up at 7! I sometimes think she would be devastated if she knew how late I have been sleeping in. But today, I am up. 5:00 AM. And I am joyous. I have prepared my husband's coffee and I've sat with the Lord and thanked Him for His tender mercies which are so new this day and now I'm blogging to tell all of you!

it's our duty then, hope you can cope up with health problem.thanks for sharing your TT to us. thanks for visiting mine.God bless! :)
Woo Hoo! Doesn't it feel good my friend? You know I'll be up with you so you aren't alone lol. It just sets the day off right. I pray you are able to continue on this routine. If you want to borrow that book I posted about yesterday I would be more than happy to lend it to you. Just let me know.
Blessings.

Way to go! Can you feel me patting you onthe back! When you don't HAVE to be up and don't receive a pay check it is so much harder to motivate yourself. But we are to work as unto the Lord and not as unto men. Thanks for the exhortation. Good job!
I get up every morning at 5:15 AM to see my oldest daughter, Brittany, off to high school. I know that, all too soon, she'll be going to college and I don't want to miss any time that I have with her now. Good for you in getting up bright and early to take care of your hubby and to have some devotional time, as well. Way too go!!!
Have a great Thursday...the weekend's almost here!! :)
Happy for you dear one, may your early morning blessings continue. I love you.
Good Morning Sweet Sister!
What an awesome new way to start the day - to prepare it with the Lord!
I love you and so happy to hear you are feeling better as each day passes!
In His amazing grace,
Jill
Thank you for posting this! I too have been struggling with physical issues that have kept me from being the wife I need to be. This move has taken a tole on my body too with physical issues I have...
I too feel so much better when I get up and start my day early with the Lord, and spend a little time with my husband before work. This morning I got up with him at 6 am, and we had a wonderful talk before we went to work. I would love to get up at 5 am, and have that quiet time with the Lord earlier too.
The children are usually up by 8:30 and we would normally have a devotion together before school. But this move has interrupted our weekly routine. Can't wait to get settled here in our new apartment.
Please pray for me if you think of it. That the Lord will give me strength from on high to finish out this week pain free, and get my new apartment in order...to be able to find "homes" for all of these items, or continue giving away to those in need.
Your new blog look is so bright and cheery. I love yellow for that reason! Sunshine-y and warm. =)
I so glad that you were able to rise early. This is also something that I struggle with - my husband is a very early riser and I am not. I have been trying to discipline myself also to rise earlier. Thanks for sharing with us. Happy TT! -Laurie
What a sweet gift to your husband and to the Lord this morning. What a joy to start your day early with the Lord.
Your Nonny reminds me of my Grandma, and also of my husband's Uncle Frank. They used to work for the same company. When my husband arrived to start work at 7:00 am, Uncle Frank (who had probably already been at work for an hour) would say "Good Afternoon!" ; )
I get up at 5 am, too, but only because I NEED to, not because I WANT to. ; )
Happy to hear you posted the election video too. It's very powerful!
Awesome post. When I have to work, my husband and I are up together with both the boys, but now that I am home on medical leave, it too is hard for me to get up with him. Have a fantabulous day!
Up at 5:00 am!! Wow. That is about the time I was finally falling asleep. For some reason I couldn't sleep last night. I tossed and turned until at least 4:45. (Could it be the medium iced tea and refill that I had at Arby's yesterday plus the two cups of vanilla caramel tea I had at home in the early evening?)
AT least, though, I had made my husband's lunch last night, as he usually prefers leftovers to a sandwich. So I had his lunch all ready and waiting for him in the frig. But he had to do his own coffee. (Shame on me)
Rejoicing with you over the answered prayer. Also thank you for sharing the sweet story about the teacup you put out for Nonny each holiday. That is a lovely thing to do.
Have a wonderful day,
Patti
Good for you Debra! It's a great feeling to get up before your hubby and get the house "started". :) Luckily for me, my hubby works shift work, so I can sleep in and still be up "early", hee hee. :)
Your morning sounds WONDERFUL! I'm not a morning person either. It is a real struggle.
Debra-I enjoyed reading this! When you said it reminded you of your Nonny, I immediately thought of my "Mamo". My mother's mother was always diligent about her home. From cleaning, cooking to spiritual needs. She covered all the basis---and when one entered her home, it was felt!
I WANT to be that! I loved this post. Such a sweet reminder! I am glad you were able to accomplish this early today. It helps!
Rejoicing that God granted you the desire of your heart! How awesome is our God?! Happy Thankful Thursday to you.
Hi there! It is a blessing to get up early, and especially before everyone else does. I'm sure your husband was super blessed by you making coffee for him this morning. That is one less thing for him to worry about!! God bless you!!! alicia
Oh, I need to do that! I was awakened by the Lord at 6 this am, but gave into the comfort of my covers until 7. I do need to get up and use the extra hours he has given. Thanks for another reminder and prompting.
YEA!! So glad you were able to get up and take care of such important people -- your family! A great way to start the day!
Happy Thankful Thursday!
I'm glad that the Lord gave you extra strength to get up early this morning to take care of hubby and to also spend to with Him. What a blessing! I am sure that they (hubby and God) both truly appreciated you doing so.
Have a great afternoon!
I think that is wonderful. I tned to sleep in too. I wonder often how my schedule will change when Caleb goes to school next year.
What a blessing to start your day early with the Lord and being a helper to your husband! I bet it has put a bounce in your step today!!
Blessings!
What a precious and tender heart you have! I hope you are beginning to adjust to your new heart medication. Sometimes it seems like the simple things done in love are the best. Getting up early and making the coffee for your hubby really is a way to show him love. God bless you Debra.
Oh what a blessing this was this morning.
I bet you had the BEST day and got so much accomplished too.
You've inspired us all.
Blessings♥
I was up early this morning, too. It was a busy day. I, too, would like to continue. Maybe we can spur one another on! Take care, my friend!
i also wake up at seven during weekdays. i wake up at 8 or 9 on weekends. that's because i sleep late. gosh, i wasted half of my day already... shucks.
i see that most wives here are early risers. hmm... maybe i'll try to wake up at 6 and i'll try to sleep early. God help me! ♥
Blessings Debra...I'm thankful that you are up & accomplishing your new heart's desire but I pray that that sweet heart of yours will not race on the meds but just be calm, still & healed! May Our Lord put your heart in perfect harmony! I'm not a morning person either and trust me 7 is early for me. My dogs do not know how to tell time nor do they know about daylight savings time falling back last week...so now I'm up at 6...
Just gives me more time with Our Lord & His Word & prayer before my day...if they can only get that my Quiet time does not include any barking! Neighbors prefer that, too! But they tell me they don't notice! I'm in awe! Your thankful heart & purpose as a helpmate & homemaker is totally awesome & admirable! But please get your required rest & be well first!
No greater thanks can we give the Lord than to sit with Him early in the morning. be blessed
Debra,
What an awesome way to spend time with your husband, before your son gets up. I am trying to go to bed early, so I can be more prepared for the day.
