Friday Night Lights ... Playoffs

The hour is late and we are an extremely tired bunch and I could go on and on about this game.... you know, fourth quarter, one minute 25 seconds to go, we get the ball back and run it down to the 35 yard line and then .....

intercepted with 9 seconds left! Final score..... Apopka 41 ~ East Ridge 34

I'm quite sure I won't have a voice tomorrow, along with a few of my family members! What a game! Congratulations to Apopka. This guy is still my Knight and I am so proud.

Thank you all for supporting him with all of your encouragement!!

Blessings to you!!

It's Playoff Time ... Game 2

We are headed out to Game 2 of the playoffs. We are hosting again at our field ...the Dungeon ... and we will meet the Apopka Darters for the second time.

When we met them the first time they were undefeated. We won that night and it was a big upset. The 'talk' is that they will be a different team tonight and we have our work cut out for us.

I'll post when we get back.

Blessings to you!

Bookworm Award

My friend, Kim, over at Homesteader's Heart, awarded me this Bookworm Award. I'm supposed to grab the book closest to me and turn to page 56 and go to the fifth line and type it and the following couple of lines. Sounds simple enough.

Ready: "Lord killed him. And Judah said to Onan, Go in to your brother's wife and marry her, and raise up an heir to your brother." But Onan knew that the heir "

My Bible was right next to me. Now, I am supposed to tag five people.

1. Denise @ Shortybears Place

2. Mimi @ He, Me +3

3. Michele @ Michele's Morsel's Believe

4. Mikki @ Living Life Where Shoes Are an Option

5. Sheryl @ The Perch (will you please go say hi to this very sweet lady)

Blessings to you today!

Six Random Things

My sweet bloggin buddy, Karen, tagged me for six random things about myself. I'm really touched she thought of me.

Random fact 1 ~ here is a picture of me this weekend at my family reunion on my father's side. I am the oldest child of my father...the one they call...Jody blue eyes.
However, his name is Bobby and when I was younger I loved the song "I want to be Bobby's girl". It always made me think of my Dad. Up until about 5 years ago, I hardly ever saw my father. That changed the day he had to have his heart 'worked on'. The Lord spoke to my heart about being there with him and getting his heart 'right' and being bold with my Dad.

I sat in the hospital parking lot arguing with the Lord for about 15 minutes and then I mustered up all the courage I could and I walked into the cardiac unit and went into see him. When I saw him, he was getting ready to undergo a procedure to 'shock' his heart back into rhythm. The doctor explained to my Dad and my bonus Mom and myself the problems that could occur. My Dad agreed to go ahead with the procedure, kissed his wife, and then looked at me.

I asked for a moment alone with him. And then I looked into his incredible blue eyes and I teared up and said the following. "Dad, I love you. And chances are all of this is going to be okay with your heart. But if for any reason, it's not okay, are you okay for eternity? Do you know Jesus?"

He looked at me and said "yep, me and JC go way back". And that was the end of that discussion. I know that it was the lousiest witnessing moment, but I'd ask you to please walk in my shoes with this man before you judge too quickly. I had never heard a compliment my whole life. I only remember my father hugging me once and that was when I got all A's on my first grade report card. He was raking the front yard and I ran home and showed it to him and he pulled me up and hugged me and swung me around. I can still remember the smell of his neck.

When he and my mother divorced, I took the brunt of it. I was so much like my Mom in so many ways that it was tough for him to be around me, I guess. So for years, I did not have a good relationship with him at all. Most celebratory occasions I left in tears with his latest remark a new etched memory of hurt on my heart.

However, everything changed that day in the hospital. He has never spoken to me in a negative way since. He looks at me different. He tells me he loves me. He won't let me speak about the things of the Lord but he is no longer openly hostile to me. At the family reunion, he openly hugged me and told me how much he loved me and how he was proud of me.

That was incredibly long .... I don't know if I should erase it or just let the post stand.

Random fact 2 ~ I think everything looks pretty with clear lights. I'd decorate all year long if I could.

Random fact 3 ~ My roots are still showing and someone suggested in a comment a while back that my Mom should color my hair. That is too funny considering my Mom has colored her hair her whole life and I can't tell you how many times I have ran to the store for a rinse because she was orange, or yellow or purple!

Random fact 4 ~ I just met a bloggin buddy at church! We go to the same church...very cool!

Random fact 5 ~ Is it possible to fall more in love with your spouse everyday? I think I do that. Truly...how can one man grow cuter...don't the laws of entropy apply to everyone?

Random fact 6 ~ I have cute piggies. My husband swears I have cute toes. You'll just have to take his word for it.

Ok, I've so messed up this tag. I'm sure no one will ever tag me again. I must be feeling nostalgic or something after the family reunion.

I'm supposed to tag six people, but please consider yourself tagged if you stuck with me through this and would like to post six random facts about yourself. Please let me know if you do so that I can read yours.

And again, thanks Karen, for thinking of me.

Blessings to you!
